Driving to the event, I felt the worst I have in a long time. My body was achy, I had a sore throat, and I was all stuffed up. Not a great combo for one of the hardest CrossFit workouts I’ve seen 😅
We pulled in and walked in to one of the coolest gyms. As I got talking to their owner, Sarah, I learned all about their Forging Youth Resilience Program they ran out of their gym. It was a program for kiddos 8 years old and up that they had at the gym 4 days/week that took them through workouts, taught them about the skills you don’t learn in school, and provided a safe environment completely for free.
Then, Sarah said they were joining us today and I was so excited.
The gym was packed with members and kiddos of all ages. We started the workout that was BRUTAL and I had to scale a ton (20 L pull ups?! 😅).
As we were done (& I was the last one to finish) we all sat around and just talked. A few of the young girls came up to me and wanted a picture, others signed the RV, and it was a day that was incredibly hard and rewarding the entire time.
Driving into rural Kansas I didn’t know what to expect, but it’s always the ones that you least expect that turn out the best.
That same day we ended up reaching our goal of 10 girls funded by Saturday and Dr. Dev matched all 10.
In less than 24 hours 23 more girls were funded for ROX programs.
I’ll remember this day for a LONG time.

I created Mission48 where I compete in 48 fitness events in 48 states in 48 days to inspire women and young girls to step out of their comfort zone & build self-confidence. I partnered with Ruling Our eXperiences, a nonprofit that does 20-week programs in schools for young girls to help them build self-confidence, communicate better & build leaders. Our BIG goal is to fund 10,000 girls for their programs.
It’s $100 to fund one girl for a 20-week ROX program. If this speaks to you please donate below! ✨
