M48 DAY 44 Recap: Bangor, MAINE – Crossfit Competition

Back in Florida I planned on competing in my first “legit” Crossfit competition. Unfortunately, that event cancelled. This Maine event was now going to be my first Crossfit competition. I was PUMPED. It was a partner competition and Jensen was my partner for the entire competition. There were three different workouts that we competed in against other teams.

Before starting, I gave a small speech about Mission48. I shared the mission of Mission48 and why I am traveling in an RV to inspire women to build true self-confidence. I could tell it was going to be a good day. The first workout… kicked our butts. It was a max ground to overhead while your partner also does wall-walks (shoulder.. KILLER!). The second workout was DB snatch, box overs, and max bike erg. We were battling for first place with one other team and it came down to the last workout.

The last workout was a combination of thrusters, pull-ups, and knees to elbow. We are pretty competitive so we did everything we could to pull out a W.

We ended up winning, so we finalized our spot to get to the finals for one last workout The finals were a combination of rope climbs, lunges, and sprints… GAME TIME! Jensen and I gave it all we had and were able to pull out the win for that event. WOOT WOOT! It was an incredible day and fun to compete with everyone again.

The difference of this event was I had to just show up and compete. Since Mission48 was in 48 days, there’s no Spartan race on a Tuesday. As a result, I had to create, organize, and lead majority of the events in each state all still while competing. Today I could show up and compete. That was it. It was AMAZING.

We are officially at 129 girls funded for Ruling Our eXperiences that has 20-week programs in schools for young girls to build their confidence, teach them self defense, and learn how to be a true leader in today’s world. They change the trajectory of their entire lives when they build strong, confident young girls. I’m pushing my body and mind to the limit because I believe in it so strongly.
