There is something about heavy weights, a badass gym & girls hitting PRs for the first time that will never get old to me.
There were two girls there that had never maxed out like that before and I saw the nerves on their faces right before we were about to begin.
I told them, “Watch today.. you’re going to surprise yourself on what you can do.”
& they quickly nodded probably not hearing a word I said because nerves were taking over (I’ve been there 🙋🏼♀️).
I watched them as they stepped up to bench for the first time, slowly lowered it to their chest and BOOM the weight flew up.
Then we added 100lbs to the bar.
I looked over to them, “Have you ever lifted 100lbs before?”
“Nope” & in that moment I knew this was about to get good 😈
They both went up and CRUSHED 100lbs and the smiles on their faces were priceless.
As a woman & as a girl to truly feel how strong your body is changes how you view your body. It goes from seeing everything “wrong” with it that media tries to convince you of to seeing how badass it is that it has the strength to lift that weight. I remember in high school looking in the mirror wondering why my hips were so wide (they weren’t) to know those same hips lift 350+ lbs and I’m dang proud of them.
Women – lift heavy shiz, build muscle, & go walk around like the badasss you are. You might just surprise yourself 😉
